Abstract

Introduction and purpose of the study. Numerous scientists and teachers of physical culture and sports institutions addressed the topic of competences. However, the topic of forming the competences of a physical culture and sports manager in the educational process in various forms of education has not yet received suficient coverage and disclosure.

The purpose of the research is to develop and justify the pedagogical technology of forming the competencies of physical culture and sports managers based on the “image” of their professional activity.

Research material and methods. The study was conducted at the Prydniprovsk State Academy of Physical Culture and Sport. The used methods of theoretical research, namely the study and generalization of data from literary sources, abstraction, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, pedagogical design.

The results. Teachers of the relevant academic disciplines are faced with the question of ways to organize the educational process, which would prepare future masters for management activities in the best possible way, as far as possible in the conditions of distance education. In the standard of higher education of the master’s level of the field of knowledge 01 Education/Pedagogy of the specialty 017 Physical culture and sports [19] in the section “Employment of graduates” it is indicated project, organizational, scientific research, innovative, scientific and pedagogical in higher education institutions and other types of activities, for which knowledge of educational disciplines alone is not enough according to the informational and cognitive criterion. Indeed, if we refer to the general and special competencies of the specified standard, we find, for example, the following: GC6. Ability to develop and manage projects; SC2. Ability to develop and implement innovative projects in the field of physical culture and sports; SC4. The ability to manage working or educational processes in the field of physical culture and sports, which are complex, unpredictable and require new strategic approaches, etc.

Conclusions. The agenda of the Prydniprovsk State Academy of Physical Culture and Sport has included the issue of solving the urgent scientific problem of improving the quality of student education in the context of new historical circumstances in the life of the national higher education institution, which arose after the acquisition of state independence, through the involvement of its own highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel.

We are talking about a qualitatively different stage of the progress of a higher education institution: not so much about the search for internal reserves for improving the educational process in the state higher education institution at the expense of the implementation of already known approaches, because they have been implemented to a large extent in recent years in specialized physical culture institutions and sports, how much about starting your own scientific school for higher education pedagogy.

The task of developing a new class of pedagogical and educational technologies capable of effectively influencing the main essential results of the educational process was chosen as a more specific reference point. The article provides an example of such an educational technology, which has been tested in the conditions of teaching the discipline “Management and Marketing in the Field of Physical Culture and Sports” on streams of future masters, and consists in the formation of the “image” of a successful modern teacher of a higher school/manager as a system of forming factors in the future education of students and their preparation for professional activities. We present it as an example of an effective educational technology that can be extended to various humanitarian disciplines that are directly related to the students’ mastery of their chosen profession.
