Abstract

Introduction. Formation of motivation for learning is one of the key problems in pedagogy and physical education. Experts note that the formation of needs, motives and interests of students of higher education in the field of physical culture is influenced by a number of specific factors, among which special attention should be paid to those created by the professional environment, which determine the requirements for the level of development of physical and mental qualities necessary for the successful performance of professional activities. The analysis of modern scientific and pedagogical literature indicates an insuficient number of scientific studies devoted to the study and comparative analysis of the features of the motivation of students of different groups of specialties to engage in physical education, which determines the relevance of our research.

The purpose of the study is to justify the system of measures for the formation of motivation for physical education of students of different groups of specialties.

Research material and methods. The research was conducted on the basis of the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University. 19 teachers of the Department of Physical Education and 180 students took part in it. To achieve the goal, the following methods were used: theoretical analysis and generalization of literary sources, analysis of documentary materials, questionnaires; methods of mathematical statistics.

The results. In the course of the study, the peculiarities of the attitude towards physical education classes of students of different groups of specialties were determined. It was found that there are significant differences in the motivational priorities for physical education, lifestyle and level of motor activity of students of different groups of specialties. In order to form students’ motivational and value attitudes towards physical education and improve the eficiency of the physical education process, it is proposed to use interactive teaching methods in the process of theoretical training and introduce modern technologies for organising students’ activities during extracurricular activities. The choice of means, methods and technologies for organising training for different groups of specialities is recommended to be based on the requirements of professional activity for the development of physical and mental qualities of future specialists.

Conclusions. The results of the survey of participants in the educational process indicate the feasibility of implementing the proposed methods and technologies of training organization for the formation of motivational and value attitudes of students of different groups of specialties to physical education.
