Abstract

Introduction. The present day of Ukrainian society is due to a number of serious challenges – the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against our country, a complex epidemiological situation, in particular the epidemic of COVID-19, the transition of geopolitical and ideological conflicts into a state of hostilities between states and peoples. Coping with this pressure and overload, building one’s own present and future can only be mentally and physically healthy, comprehensively developed personality. It is clear that today’s children are the future adults who will overcome the consequences of this war after its end, and build the Motherland. Therefore, the main task of society is to promote the formation of a harmoniously developed healthy personality of the child. One of the main tools for solving this problem is ensuring the optimal functioning of the physical education system in preschool education institutions. Eastern martial arts represent a great physical and recreational potential in working with children of preschool age. They can be a means of complex all-round development of the child, contribute to the improvement of his physical and psycho-emotional state. The analysis of scientific literature on the issue of the use of jiu-jitsu tools in the physical education of preschoolers shows the lack of thorough scientific research on this aspect. Materials and methods. The research was conducted at Hryhoriy Skovoroda University in Pereyaslav. The following methods were used during the research: theoretical analysis and generalization of data from scientific and methodological literature and documentary materials, comparison method, system analysis method. The purpose of the study is to analyze and generalize the data of the scientific and methodological literature and the leading practical world experience regarding the use of jiu-jitsu tools in physical education and health work with children of older preschool age. Results. The article presents historical information about the origin and development of Brazilian jiu-jitsu. The content of Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes with preschool children is disclosed, where together with elements of martial arts, means of mobile games, gymnastics, and athletics are used.

Jiu-jitsu and other martial arts are widely represented in educational programs of foreign countries. Conclusions. Therefore, it can be stated that the issue of using martial arts in general and Brazilian jiu-jitsu in particular in the process of physical education of preschool children is almost unexplored from the point of view of the feasibility of using elements of Brazilian jiu-jitsu in the physical education of preschoolers. Foreign authors indicate the significant potential of researching this problem, namely, the possibilities of improving and diversifying the process of physical education of preschool age.
