Technical and tactical actions performed by football players during games are the implementation of tactical knowledge and practical skills, as well as decisions they make after assessing the situation on the field. A high level of tactical thinking combined with technical skill allows the coach to use the player’s potential in the most appropriate forms and conditions. Therefore, the study of the features of technical and tactical actions of players is extremely important for obtaining high results in football.
The purpose of the study: to conduct a comparative analysis of the indicators of technical and tactical actions (single combat, ball recovery, interceptions) of the national teams of Ukraine, Spain, and Argentina at the 2022 World Cup and 2024 European Football Championships, and to establish the causes of the identified shortcomings. Research material and methods: theoretical analysis and generalization of data from scientific and methodological literature, methods of pedagogical observations, methods of mathematical statistics, registration and comparative analysis of technical and tactical actions (single combat, ball recovery, interceptions) of the national
teams of Ukraine, Spain, and Argentina at the 2022 World Championships and Europe-2024 in football.
Research results: a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the indicators of technical and tactical actions (single combat, ball recovery, interceptions) of the national teams of Ukraine, Spain, and Argentina at the 2022 World Cup and 2024 European Football Championships was conducted.
Conclusions: Quantitative and qualitative indicators performance (tackles, tackles, interceptions) of the national teams of Ukraine, Spain, and Argentina at the 2022 World and European 2024 football championships were obtained, which indicate that the national team of Ukraine had higher quantitative indicators, but the quality of these indicators is much worse than that of the teams of Spain and Argentina. A comparative analysis of the qualitative indicators (single combat, ball recovery, interceptions) of the Ukrainian national team indicates that they do not correspond to the model characteristics of the Spanish and Argentine national teams, despite the fact that the Ukrainian national team achieved a positive result in two matches at the 2024 European Championship. Also, based on the expert opinion of specialists, one of the reasons for the high defect rate was established, namely the insufficient level of individual technical and tactical skills of the players.
